Ziphokuhle R. Zulu

Founder

Zipho is an Attorney who was born and raised in Nongoma, Kwazulu Natal. She attended Ngxongwane Combined Primary School (Nongoma) from 1985 to 1991 and completed her High School education in 1996 at Masibumbane High School (Olundi). Zipho has always been passionate about education and started this organization after visiting her former High School and realizing that it excites and motivates pupils to see a successful person who comes from a similar background & upbringing. As an Attorney she also provides awareness to the youth on the importance of knowing and understanding the laws of this country and how to apply and correctly exercise their Constitutional Rights.

Our Humble Begining

The heart is a strange yet beautifully delicate instrument. It winds and weaves a thought with a steady gentleness and creates an idea with a rhythmic tapping, till it pounds and moves you like the beat of a drum. At the height of the covid-19 pandemic lockdown, Zipho Charity burst into song.

Zipho Charity is a non-profit organisation that was founded by Ziphokuhle Revival Zulu, an Attorney from the previously disadvantaged rural community of KwaNongoma, in the Province of KwaZulu Natal (KZN). The lockdown that ensued from the covid-19 pandemic led to adverse negative effects on the already struggling education system of KZN, more so in rural schools. Ziphokuhle's passion for education moved her to register Zipho Charity on 11 June 2020. The purpose of Zipho Charity is to reach out to rural schools and rebuild the metaphorical collapsing walls, by joining hands with teachers and students to reignite the fire of passion for education. The Charity provides a helping hand to the KwaZulu Natal Department of Education to restore the dignity of education.

Certificates and Awards

Uphetheni Esandleni Initiative

We are passionate about education and believe it is still the key to success. Our objective is to make education fashionable and gripping for young minds, by using catch phrases like "uphetheni esandleni" which translates to "what are you holding in your hand!" This has been very successful in motivating young learners to push themselves to achieve better marks and look at education from the fresh perspective of hope and dreams. Matric students are gifted with "uphetheni esandleni" branded pens weeks before their exams, as a token of encouragement and good wishes.

At the end of each term, Zipho Charity holds an award ceremony for top achievers in each grade. The merits includes trophies, medals, top achiever badges and certificates personally signed by the founder of organisation.
